The mayor recently vetoed the building cap of 130 homes per year that was passed by the Town Council. He indicated that he supported a lower cap, and felt that the cap was too high. The Town council will get a chance to override his veto at the next meeting. What do you think about the development cap? Do you agree with the Mayor? What is the “right” amount of development for Mount Airy?
October 15th, 2005 at 10:47 am I support all efforts to preserve Mount Airy’s small town atmosphere. The current level of the building cap…45/year I think…ahould be the target for the council. Any development should include a comprehensive plan for infrastructure, educational and recreational facilities to support the incoming population.
